Manager, Healthcare Category Management

Location: Remote Flex - North Carolina, United States

Salary: $118,691–$189,906 annually, plus an annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Lead staff responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies across assigned healthcare categories.
• Direct sourcing events, including project plans, category profiles, evaluation criteria, and RFP, RFI, and RFQ documentation.
• Partner with stakeholders and vendors to develop sourcing strategies, negotiate contracts, and achieve business results.
• Analyze sourcing results from a total cost of ownership perspective and recommend optimization opportunities.
• Oversee supplier category management, vendor performance, engagement, and risk mitigation.
• Develop procedures, training, initiatives, specifications, and process or policy improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree where required.
• 8+ years of experience in a related field, or 10+ years in lieu of a degree.
• Experience managing sourcing strategies, procurement activities, and supplier relationships.
• Strong contract negotiation, vendor management, analytics, communication, leadership, and change management skills.
• Understanding of compliance, risk management, and regulatory frameworks in sourcing and category management.

Nice to have

• Healthcare sourcing experience across analytics, utilization management, care management, payment integrity, or pharmacy.
• Experience with SaaS and services contracts and varied pricing models.
• Experience leading vendor selection, strategic partner onboarding, and enterprise-wide initiatives.
• Experience identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing value-based sourcing initiatives.
• Experience coaching and mentoring teams in a healthcare payer environment.
