Senior Professional Engineer, Civil - Roadway & Utilities (Civil Engineering)

Location: Bloomington, Minnesota, United States; hybrid work with in-office attendance Tuesday–Thursday and work from home Monday and Friday

Salary: $104,000–$155,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead civil engineering design and project management for transportation, municipal, and government projects.
• Develop plans, specifications, grading designs, technical reports, and cost estimates for roadways, sidewalks, cycling infrastructure, utilities, stormwater systems, and public parks.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams through feasibility, design, permitting, and construction.
• Oversee technical quality, project finances, safety, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance.
• Build client and agency relationships, prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and deliver presentations.
• Coach and mentor less experienced professionals while communicating project progress, challenges, and solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer registration in Minnesota.
• 10–20 years of technical design experience with municipal and/or transportation projects.
• At least 5 years managing multidisciplinary projects through design and construction.
• Experience with roadway design, access, site grading, pollution control, stormwater management, QA/QC, permitting, and regulatory agencies.
• Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D; a valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.

Nice to have

• Professional registration in Wisconsin, South Dakota, or Iowa.
• Experience with private utilities, industrial developers, or renewable energy infrastructure.
• Limited overnight travel availability for site consultations, project meetings, and industry events.
