Senior Civil Engineer (12+ yrs)

Location: San Diego, California, USA. Hybrid work schedule.

Salary: $120,000–$160,000 per year, based on experience. Paid overtime and a discretionary end-of-year bonus are also offered.

Multidisciplinary engineering consultancy providing civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, corrosion control, and project/construction management services across the United States and overseas.

What you will do

• Apply civil engineering expertise to land development projects across commercial, institutional, healthcare, residential, municipal, life sciences, and other sectors.
• Manage projects from entitlements and preliminary design through construction documents and construction administration.
• Lead design team efforts and coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering professionals.
• Manage concurrent project budgets, schedules, and client relationships.
• Prepare and review hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, technical studies, mapping documents, civil construction documents, and earthwork calculations.
• Mentor junior staff and support design excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration required; California registration preferred.
• 12+ years of professional land development experience.
• Experience managing multiple projects, budgets, schedules, design teams, and client relationships.
• Technical proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, technical studies, civil construction documents, and earthwork calculations.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Stormwater experience in San Diego County.
• Experience preparing specifications.
• Experience and professional relationships in San Diego.
