Senior Controls Engineer (Automation)

Location: Hartsville, South Carolina, USA; onsite work supporting a new machinery manufacturing facility, with branch plant trips and vendor visits as required.

Annual base salary: $138,320–$172,900, plus eligibility for a bonus.

What you will do

• Lead electrical and controls design for customized automation solutions using EPLAN.
• Design, build, integrate, install, and support control and automation systems for diverse, high-volume manufacturing technologies.
• Develop PLC programs in Studio5000, HMI applications, and integrated alarms and messaging.
• Support panel fabrication, shop testing, equipment installation, field service, and advanced troubleshooting.
• Lead automation projects, coordinating internal teams, contractors, OEMs, drafters, designers, and technicians to deliver on schedule and budget.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Supply Management, business units, and leadership on capital proposals, performance statements of work, reliability tracking, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Controls Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 8–10 years of experience in controls and automation design.
• Experience with electrical control-system design software; EPLAN is preferred.
• Experience with PLC and HMI programming; Studio5000 and Maple Systems are preferred.
• Knowledge of applicable safety regulations, control-panel fabrication, complex system testing, and equipment troubleshooting.
• Ability to define problems, analyze data, communicate effectively, collaborate across departments, and work in high-pressure environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with Ignition or a similar SCADA system.
• Experience with EPLAN Pro Panel or similar tools for lean control-panel fabrication.
