Electrical Engineer

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, USA; remote candidates may be considered in surrounding areas of North and South Carolina, with periodic travel to Corporate Headquarters in Hartsville, South Carolina and 20–30% travel away from home.

Annual base salary: $160,720–$180,810.

What you will do

• Provide electrical engineering support to approximately 70 plants across the division.
• Support capital projects through electrical design and implementation.
• Work with Plant Managers, Plant Maintenance Managers, and Capital Project Engineering teams to develop engineering solutions.
• Handle large- and small-scale initiatives with minimal direct supervision.
• Assist mills with electrical troubleshooting when required.
• Travel 20–30% of the time and work weekends or extended hours when necessary to meet objectives.

Requirements

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7–10 years of electrical power distribution experience, including power system troubleshooting and design.
• Professional Engineering certification in Electrical Engineering.
• Advanced computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, CAD, and project management software.
• Strong knowledge of Arc Flash requirements for industrial applications and the NEC.
• Experience with industrial electrical distribution from 5kVAC to 120VAC, motor controls, plant lighting, and coordinated drive controls.
