TL;DR
Courseware Developer (Military Training): Building CBT, IMI, student guides, assessments, and functional lesson pages for military training content with an accent on QA, instructional writing, and storyboard implementation. Focus on developing branching assessments, integrating multimedia, validating Section 508/WCAG and SCORM compliance, and maintaining traceability and configuration control.

What you will do
- Produce CBT, IMI, student guides, job aids, POIs, lesson plans, reference materials, and assessments.
- Perform QA testing to identify functional defects, navigation issues, broken interactions, and design mismatches.
- Convert instructional design storyboards into functional lesson pages and IMI screens, progressing toward independent Adobe Captivate builds.
- Develop written and scenario-based assessments, including branching logic and remediation paths.
- Coordinate the placement of graphics, animations, voice-over, and video content.
- Maintain traceability, configuration control, defect resolution, and continuous-improvement feedback loops while collaborating with subject-matter experts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, communications, English, multimedia, or equivalent DoD, QA, or technical-writing experience.
- 1–4 years of experience in QA, technical writing, instructional support, multimedia, classroom instruction, aviation, or military training.
- Strong writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to learn authoring tools quickly.
- Familiarity with NAVAIR or military training conventions, or the ability to learn them.
- Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and disciplined version control.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance are required; the role is on-site in Oklahoma City.
Nice to have
- Active Top Secret clearance, preferably with SCI.
- Experience with Captivate, Storyline, Rise, or Lectora.
- Knowledge of SCORM, xAPI, Section 508/WCAG, or IMI levels.
- Adobe Creative Suite familiarity, Naval Aviation experience, or instructional design coursework.
- Small-team cross-functional experience and AS9100 familiarity.
