AESA Radar Engineer

Location: Virginia Beach, VA, with options in Bath, ME; Port Hueneme, CA; or Pascagoula, MS. Onsite and field travel required, with up to 30% travel for ship visits, test events, and program meetings.

What you will do

• Provide radar engineering support to the NSWC PHD In-Service Engineering Agent for the AN/SPY-6(V) Family of Radars.
• Evaluate OEM system designs for performance, maintenance, supportability, modifications, and upgrades.
• Perform system engineering, design, testing, analysis, fielding, and fleet introduction of new radar capabilities.
• Conduct land-based and underway radar performance testing and analysis, including training for shipboard technicians and operators.
• Support ship integration planning, combat system interface development and testing, and preparation of Ship Installation Drawings and Ship Alteration Records.
• Develop technical documentation and support post-installation System Operational Verification Testing.

Requirements

• Active Secret security clearance required.
• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, mathematics, or physics.
• Practical experience with engineering design, test and evaluation, and supportability analysis for radar systems such as SPY-1/6/7, DBR, THAAD/TYP-2, SBX, TPY-4, LTAMDS, G/ATOR, or Sentinel A4.
• Experience with AESA radar requirements, technical documentation, fielding, testing, test data analysis, and engineering reports.
• Experience with Navy weapon system development under the DoD Acquisition Process and knowledge of Change Requests and Engineering Change Proposals.
• Familiarity with reliability engineering, supply support, training, configuration management, test equipment, and MS Office.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with MATLAB for system modeling.
• Familiarity with US Navy radar installation processes and underway operations.
