Engineering Team Leader – Product Development & Productivity

Location: Hartsville, South Carolina, USA

Annual base salary: $150,960–$169,830, plus a 12.5% annual target bonus.

What you will do

• Lead and oversee a technology engineering team delivering product, process, material, and productivity initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, project managers, technicians, and cross-functional partners to design, test, prototype, and refine paper-based industrial products and processes.
• Identify and develop opportunities for product design optimization, material optimization, cost reduction, and manufacturing productivity.
• Manage projects from inception and development through commercialization, including timelines, milestones, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Use Python, Minitab, and Excel for technical analysis and data-driven decision-making.
• Provide project updates and build deep technical expertise in materials and products.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Approximately 10 years of professional experience, ideally including people management.
• Proven project management experience.
• Strong engineering knowledge, leadership skills, collaboration, and creative problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work at the Hartsville, South Carolina location.

Nice to have

• Experience in the paper industry.
• PMP, PMI, or PPM certification.
