Manager, Engineering

Location: Hybrid role based at the Fort Collins, Colorado facility; on-site Tuesday through Thursday, with remote work potentially available Monday and Friday. Periodic international travel to supplier locations in Asia and occasional domestic travel are required.

Salary: $110,900–$157,900 annual base salary, with bonus eligibility when applicable.

What you will do

• Lead the technical execution of new product development and sustaining engineering projects in an ISO 13485 environment.
• Own engineering decisions, technical trade-offs, risk identification, issue escalation, and delivery quality for assigned programs.
• Provide direct people leadership, coaching, prioritization, technical guidance, and performance support for mechanical and electrical engineers.
• Represent engineering in cross-functional work with Marketing, Project Management, Quality, Operations, and Compliance.
• Manage design execution, verification activities, technical deliverables, and internal or external engineering resources.
• Support resource planning and continuous improvement of engineering processes, design practices, and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical science discipline.
• At least 10 years of product design experience; a master’s degree may substitute for up to 3 years, with at least 7 years of total experience required.
• Demonstrated electromechanical product design experience involving mechanisms, motors, actuators, batteries, or similar systems.
• Experience designing products for higher-volume manufacturing, including manufacturability, assembly, and quality at scale.
• Experience supporting sustaining engineering, design updates, quality improvements, cost reductions, and lifecycle support.
• Ability to work on-site at the Fort Collins facility Tuesday through Thursday.

Nice to have

• At least 2 years of people management experience in a product design environment.
• Consumer product development experience.
• Knowledge of plastic molded part design, electromechanical mechanisms, and higher-volume design philosophies.
• Experience with offshore manufacturing partners or consumer and medical device product development.
