Automated Test Engineer (Cypress/JavaScript/Agile/Git/Jira/AWS/CI/CD)

Location: Hybrid in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, United States

Annual salary: $130,000–$270,000, depending on years of experience.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated UI and API test scripts using Cypress.
• Execute automated test suites, analyze results, troubleshoot failures, and document defects and testing metrics.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab CI/CD in collaboration with DevOps and software engineers.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and demos.
• Work with developers, system engineers, and product owners to understand requirements and ensure test coverage for enhancements and bug fixes.

Requirements

• Current Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable polygraph is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; a master’s degree may substitute for two years of experience.
• Demonstrated experience designing, writing, and maintaining automated tests with Cypress.
• Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript and experience testing modern web applications, RESTful microservices, and APIs.
• Knowledge of QA methodologies, Agile development, Jira, Confluence, and Git.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, including GitLab CI/CD.
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services and cloud-based deployment.
• Basic understanding of Docker and containerized testing environments.
• Knowledge of government agency reporting and dissemination policies.
