Director, Scientific Communications (Pharmaceutical)

Location: Remote within the United States

Salary: $186,489–$278,875 annually, plus incentive opportunity

What you will do

• Lead globally aligned scientific communications strategies and integrated medical communications plans for assigned therapeutic-area assets.
• Translate clinical and scientific data into disease-state narratives, core lexicons, field medical materials, data dissemination assets, and congress materials.
• Chair cross-functional teams and align Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Evidence Generation, Regulatory, and Commercial stakeholders.
• Design digital and omnichannel engagement strategies, including interactive formats and AI-enabled content development, personalization, and automation.
• Establish governance frameworks to ensure scientifically accurate, evidence-based, compliant, and high-quality communications.
• Manage annual scope-of-work planning, agency partnerships, budgets, timelines, and operational improvements.

Requirements

• Advanced degree required, such as PharmD, MD, PhD, or an equivalent degree in science, medicine, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in Medical Affairs, Scientific Communications, or related pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry roles.
• At least 3–5 years of leadership experience, including developing and managing team members.
• Experience leading global communications strategies, integrated planning processes, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong expertise in scientific content strategy, omnichannel engagement, digital communication tools, publication planning, and project management.
• Nephrology or Immunology experience is strongly preferred.
