Corporate Counsel (Healthcare & AI)

Location: Remote or hybrid in Chicago, United States

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 annually

What you will do

• Draft, edit, negotiate, explain, and advise on complex commercial agreements across healthcare and life sciences business lines.
• Handle clinical and research projects, data license and transfer agreements, strategic collaborations, laboratory services agreements, payer agreements, pharmaceutical agreements, and vendor contracts.
• Address legal issues involving artificial intelligence, large language models, intellectual property ownership, data privacy, and healthcare technology.
• Support additional legal areas including intellectual property, employment and human resources, corporate governance, fundraising, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory matters, and international issues.
• Collaborate with commercial, data science, medical affairs, product and engineering, finance, communications, and people teams to evaluate legal risks and support business goals.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree.
• At least 4 years of relevant healthcare transactional experience at an established law firm or in-house.
• Strong familiarity with healthcare regulation, HIPAA, Medicare and Medicaid payment issues, Stark regulation, fraud and abuse matters, and data privacy regulations.
• Current bar membership in at least one state.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong judgment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Collaborative approach and ability to evaluate and communicate legal risks effectively.
