Senior Counsel, Regulatory (AI)

Location: Hybrid role with in-office expectations in Washington, D.C., Bellevue, or Seattle, United States

Salary: $197,800–$272,050 USD annually, with potential annual bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary internal subject matter expert on global regulatory frameworks outside privacy and export controls, including the EU AI Act, EU Data Act, DORA, NIS-2, CRA, DMA, DSA, antitrust, competition, and payments regulation.
• Lead the strategic implementation of legislative requirements, including the centralized regulatory roadmap, triage process, and incident response playbooks.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Security, Corporate Operations, Finance, and legal teams to embed compliance by design into the Data Intelligence Platform, Lakehouse, and agentic AI workflows.
• Support enterprise negotiations and partnerships by drafting negotiation fallbacks and customer-facing regulatory collateral, including for financial services and public-sector customers.
• Advise on international expansion, local AI and data regulations, and EU data sovereignty.
• Provide proactive legal guidance and training while leading OKRs to improve and scale regulatory compliance processes.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience at a nationally recognized law firm and/or in-house legal department, with substantial experience in technology, data, or regulatory matters.
• J.D. from a top-tier law school.
• Membership in good standing of a state bar for U.S. candidates.
• Experience advising on global data, digital, and technology regulation, preferably including the EU AI Act, EU Data Act, DORA, NIS-2, DSA, DMA, or analogous regimes.
• Experience supporting SaaS, cloud, or data-platform products and partnering with Engineering, Product, and Security teams.
• Experience supporting commercial and go-to-market teams in customer-facing negotiations with enterprise customers in highly regulated sectors.
