Project Manager (Agile)

Location: Washington, DC; on-site work required two days per week. U.S. citizenship is required, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or equivalent clearance.

Salary: $120,000–$160,000 annually, depending on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.

What you will do

• Act as the primary liaison between Commission staff and the contractor, reporting to the COR and assigning tasks to the contracting team.
• Lead two Agile development teams supporting operations and maintenance and modernization across 10 CFTC applications.
• Coordinate scope, priorities, release schedules, status reviews, and blocker resolution with CFTC leadership, CORs, ACORs, and Product Owners.
• Plan, monitor, and manage project execution, schedules, risks, deliverables, staffing, and quality.
• Work with developers to estimate and build solutions, and lead analysis and governance for adoption of new technologies.
• Ensure project and contract policies, security requirements, and administrative deliverables are maintained.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and five or more years of relevant project management experience in an enterprise software development environment.
• Experience with software lifecycle management methodologies and Agile project management.
• Experience leading and mentoring teams, managing requirements, and performing requirements verification.
• Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical and executive-level government stakeholders and gain cooperation from diverse groups.
• Ability to work in a demanding, deadline-driven environment with strong written, verbal, and active-listening skills.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or equivalent clearance.

Nice to have

• Certified Scrum Master certification.
• Experience with requirements and tracking tools such as JIRA.
• Experience with project planning, milestone sequencing, effort estimation, critical-path analysis, metrics, reporting, and corrective action.
• Experience with continuous risk assessment, conflict resolution, issue escalation, and coordination across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
