Project Manager | Agile Scrum Master

Location: Bethesda, Maryland; full-time onsite at NIH-NCBI and/or remote work

Salary: $125,000–$150,000 per year, commensurate with experience and location.

What you will do

• Coordinate the full software development lifecycle in a scientific environment using Agile processes.
• Define technical and functional requirements and oversee software design, implementation, upgrades, integration, and testing.
• Coordinate complex technical projects involving scientific and genomic data.
• Track milestones, manage deliverables, and balance project risks, schedules, and resources.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams with diverse technical skill sets.
• Advise senior management and communicate project issues to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 3 years of project management experience and at least 5 years of software development or software development management experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of software application development.
• Experience managing software development projects using Agile methodology.
• Experience coordinating work across multiple teams and departments.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including experience delivering complex enterprise-level software projects.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or PMP certification.
• Experience with scientific or biological data, clinical data, large databases, or statistical analysis.
• Experience as a software development technical lead or in an R&D environment.
• Experience with large distributed systems and cloud computing.
