Electrical and Functional AIT Engineer (d/f/m) (Aerospace)

Location: Munich, Germany; full-time onsite role. Willingness to travel and work in shifts during test campaigns over several months is required.

What you will do

• Define and execute electrical and functional tests for optical subsystems and payloads, including detector and laser subsystems.
• Define and procure auxiliary electrical test equipment, including test harnesses, breakout boxes, and electrical adapters.
• Create test procedures, perform testing, including crimping, and assess the results.
• Analyse test events, correlate them with potential root causes, and develop pragmatic solutions without arming flight hardware.
• Collaborate with project teams on test strategies balancing quality, schedule, and cost.
• Support non-conformance investigations and manage tooling and test infrastructure in line with quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or comparable qualification in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
• Experience with functional and electrical AIT for optical subsystems.
• Detailed specialized knowledge of Python.
• Mandatory experience with at least one scripting environment: TCL/CCS5 or Elisa/OpenCenter.
• Experience managing network architectures and knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, or AI.
• German C1 and English C1 required. Knowledge of space standards such as ECSS is expected.

Nice to have

• Experience in the aerospace sector.
• Knowledge of Bash, MySQL, and Git.
