Flight Control System (FCS) / Flight Management System (FMS) Equipment Design Responsible (Aerospace)

Location: Manching / Ingolstadt, Germany; hybrid or office work is available, and business travel is required.

What you will do

• Own FCS and FMS equipment design across systems such as Eurofighter, FCAS, and Eurodrone.
• Manage system, functional, performance, technical, and statutory requirements and allocate them to equipment.
• Create and maintain equipment specifications, data requirement lists, design documents, requirement documents, and interface control documents.
• Lead equipment design, development, demonstration, qualification, obsolescence management, and redesign activities.
• Manage suppliers through selection, milestones, reviews, deliverable validation, defect investigations, repairs, and plan alignment.
• Coordinate with engineering disciplines, quality and support functions, customers, and national airworthiness authorities, and support equipment integration testing.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience.
• Practical expertise in airborne equipment qualification and certification, safety, airworthiness, reliability, and maintainability.
• Knowledge of DAL A hardware development using DO-254, ARP4754A, and AMC 20-152A; basic knowledge of DAL A software development using DO-178.
• Experience with robust, environmental, and certifiable hardware design according to DO-160 and MIL-STD-810.
• Business-fluent English is required; German is an advantage. Willingness to travel for business is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with DOORS or similar requirements-management tools.
• Experience in equipment and hardware certification, supplier management, analogue hardware, complex hardware verification, digital computing, analytical methods, or signal processing.
• Knowledge of Eurofighter, FCAS, Eurodrone, or other weapon systems.
