Flight Control System (FCS) / Flight Management System (FMS) Equipment Design Responsible (m/f/d)

Location: Manching, Germany. Hybrid or office work is available under the company agreement; business travel is required.

What you will do

• Own FCS and FMS equipment design for weapon systems including Eurofighter, FCAS, Eurodrone, and future systems.
• Manage statutory, functional, performance, system, and technical requirements and allocate them to equipment.
• Create and maintain equipment specifications, data requirement lists, engineering design documents, requirement documents, and interface control documents.
• Lead equipment design, development, demonstration, and qualification activities, including obsolescence and redesign.
• Manage suppliers through selection, development milestones, reviews, deliverable acceptance, defect investigations, and programme-plan alignment.
• Support equipment integration testing and coordinate with engineering disciplines, customers, and national airworthiness authorities.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
• At least 3 years of professional experience.
• Strong knowledge of airborne equipment qualification, certification, safety, airworthiness, reliability, and maintainability.
• Good knowledge of DAL A hardware development using DO-254, ARP4754A, and AMC 20-152A; basic knowledge of DAL A software development using DO-178.
• Experience with environmental, robust, and certifiable hardware design according to DO-160 and MIL-STD-810.
• Business-fluent English is required. German is an advantage.

Nice to have

• Experience with DOORS or similar requirements tools.
• Experience in equipment and hardware certification, supplier management, analogue hardware, complex hardware verification, digital computing, or signal processing.
• Knowledge of Eurofighter, FCAS, Eurodrone, or other weapon systems.
