Systems Administrator 3 (On-Call) - Linux/Bash/Python/Ansible/SaltStack/Docker

Location: Annapolis Junction, Maryland, United States. U.S. citizenship and a current Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable polygraph are required.

Annual salary: $130,000–$270,000, depending on years of experience.

What you will do

• Support a large-scale Linux system, including installation and configuration of COTS, GOTS, and FOSS software.
• Perform day-to-day operations, monitoring, maintenance, and problem resolution across compute, network, memory, and storage components.
• Maintain system security integrity and comply with corporate STE/STN security policies and procedures.
• Configure network components and implement operating-system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
• Automate infrastructure and administration tasks using Bash, Python, SaltStack, and Ansible.
• Configure and sustain VMware ESXi virtualization environments, monitoring systems, and Docker-based containers.

Requirements

• Current Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable polygraph and U.S. citizenship.
• Fifteen years of systems administration experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline; five additional years of systems administration experience may substitute for the degree.
• Security+ certification.
• Experience with Linux CLI, Bash/Python scripting, large-scale Linux clusters, Red Hat Satellite, Splunk, VMware ESXi, SaltStack, Ansible, monitoring tools, and Docker.
• Knowledge of compute, network, memory, and storage components, as well as system security compliance procedures.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience with Weka, CEPH, GPFS, or HDFS distributed file systems.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence or other Atlassian tools.
