TL;DR
Utility EIT/Coordinator (Transportation Engineering): Coordinating utility research, investigations, conflict resolution, design, and relocation activities for civil transportation projects with an accent on utility risk mitigation, plan production, and field coordination. Focus on resolving utility conflicts, supporting SUE investigations, coordinating with utility owners and construction teams, and reviewing project deliverables for quality.

Location: United States — Dallas, Tyler, Fort Worth, and El Paso, Texas; Little Rock, Arkansas; or Tulsa, Oklahoma. Full-time, regular position.

What you will do

  • Coordinate with project teams and utility owners to identify, confirm, and mitigate utility risks on civil engineering projects.
  • Research utility records, mapping, plans, and contact information.
  • Coordinate or support Subsurface Utility Engineering investigations conducted by hirify.global and subconsultants.
  • Identify and help resolve utility conflicts through design changes or utility relocations.
  • Support wet and dry utility design, plan and specification production, and utility-owner exhibits.
  • Coordinate utility relocation installation with utility owners and construction management teams while supporting QA/QC, scheduling, and budget control.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a similar field.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate preferred; candidates without an EIT enter a Design Coordinator job code and are expected to obtain it for career progression.
  • Two years of related transportation, roadway, or utility industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to read civil transportation engineering design plans and utility installation or adjustment plans.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organization, attention to detail, scheduling, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, GIS tools, and PDF-editing software.
