Transportation Engineer (PE)

Location: Fargo, ND, USA

Salary: $45–$60 per hour DOE; overtime is paid at the base hourly rate for hours worked over 40 per week. The posting also states an annual salary range of $95,000–$135,000 depending on experience and qualifications.

What you will do

• Lead transportation and roadway projects from planning through construction.
• Serve as Engineer of Record on applicable projects and prepare roadway and highway designs, plans, specifications, and technical documents.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, deliverables, and quality control.
• Coordinate with NDDOT, municipalities, regulatory agencies, clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Review technical work, mentor developing engineers, and support proposals, client relationships, and transportation business development.
• Develop practical, cost-effective solutions to complex transportation challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Current Professional Engineer (PE) license, with the ability to obtain North Dakota licensure through reciprocity.
• 6+ years of progressive transportation civil engineering experience.
• Experience with state DOTs; NDDOT experience is highly valued.
• Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Strong knowledge of transportation design principles and DOT standards.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D, MicroStation, and/or OpenRoads Designer.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
