What you will do

  • Lead the transportation planning business class and oversee planners, engineers, and related professionals in Southern California.
  • Coordinate staff development, mentoring, staffing, workload management, and the production of high-quality deliverables.
  • Manage major multidisciplinary transportation planning projects, including long-range plans, corridor studies, transit and rail plans, freight plans, and emerging mobility programs.
  • Lead scope development and project execution across multiple transportation disciplines.
  • Support business development, client presentations, project pursuits, and high-profile transportation planning opportunities.
  • Contribute to annual budgeting and strategic planning with area, regional, national, and global leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in planning, engineering, architecture, or a closely related field; a master's degree is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in transportation planning.
  • Professional or engineering registration with related technical experience, such as AICP, PE, PTOE, PTP, or PMP.
  • Experience developing and managing diverse teams and multiple projects.
  • Strong analytical, communication, presentation, client relationship, and business development skills.
  • Understanding of multimodal planning across automobile, transit, rail, and non-motorized modes.

Nice to have

  • Expertise in freight planning, aviation planning, or multimodal planning.
  • Active participation in professional organizations such as ACEC, ITE, WTS, or COMTO.
