Transportation Analyst (Supply Chain)

Salary: $56,500–$73,400 annually

What you will do

• Support transportation planning by reviewing shipment demand, routing requirements, carrier capacity, delivery schedules, and operational constraints.
• Monitor daily shipment execution through track-and-trace activities and communicate shipment status, delivery expectations, appointment changes, and service risks.
• Support carriers, internal stakeholders, business partners, and operations teams by resolving transportation inquiries and coordinating follow-up on exceptions.
• Track, analyze, and report transportation KPIs, including on-time pickup and delivery, appointment adherence, shipment visibility, exception resolution, and carrier response times.
• Analyze delays, missed appointments, late deliveries, cost impacts, service gaps, and network inefficiencies to identify improvement opportunities.
• Provide transportation data and KPI insights for business cases, savings projections, operating budgets, project start-ups, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in supply chain or transportation analysis, preferably in CPG, food and beverage, or third-party logistics.
• Understanding of the North American transportation industry, including dedicated or private fleets, TL, LTL, domestic and cross-border transportation, and intermodal operations.
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical problem-solving, and customer service skills.
• Ability to support carriers, internal stakeholders, operations teams, management, and business partners while coordinating transportation exception resolution.

Nice to have

• Experience with logistics optimization and transportation planning tools such as Appian, Paragon, JDA, or Blue Yonder.
• Working knowledge of a transportation management system, especially Oracle TMS.
