Lead Traffic Engineer

Location: Los Angeles, California, United States; ability to commute to the office at least three days per week

Salary: $119,000–$176,400 annually

What you will do

• Manage transportation projects from initiation through completion, including scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Serve as project manager or lead traffic engineer for transportation planning and engineering assignments.
• Conduct neighborhood transportation, circulation, parking, traffic impact, multimodal, complete streets, and roadway operations analyses.
• Perform traffic simulation, modeling, and capacity analysis, and develop traffic management plans and safety recommendations.
• Prepare technical reports, memoranda, presentations, proposals, and other project materials.
• Coordinate with clients, public agencies, consultants, contractors, and community stakeholders; mentor and review junior staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or transportation engineering.
• 8–15 years of experience in traffic engineering and/or transportation planning.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Traffic Engineer (TE) in California.
• High proficiency in Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, and/or Vissim, plus expert-level Excel skills.
• Experience with project management, client management, and proposal preparation for private and public sector clients.
• Authorization to work in the United States and ability to commute to the office at least three days per week.
