Principal (26-27 SY)

Location: KIPP Capital Region schools in Albany and Troy, New York, United States. Full-time, onsite role with occasional travel to different KIPP Capital Region schools and a flexible schedule outside regular business hours.

Salary: $120,000–$132,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead the school’s vision, culture, goals, behavior management, and academic outcomes.
• Co-lead instructional and operational priorities with the Director of Operations.
• Manage and develop the school leadership team, including assistant principals, deans, instructional coaches, and special education coordinators.
• Observe and coach instructional leaders and drive high-impact feedback for teachers.
• Use qualitative feedback, quantitative data, and observations to guide strategy, decision-making, and accountability.
• Lead professional development, recruitment, talent development, retention, and community partnerships.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• At least three years of experience as a school principal and ten years of progressive experience in education.
• Previous direct experience working with students and experience in charter, private, or public schools and urban communities.
• Strong instructional leadership, interpersonal, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Commitment to equity, anti-racist practices, inclusion, and continuous improvement through feedback.
• Fluent English and the ability to pass a criminal background check are required.
