Location: San Francisco, CA, USA; located at school sites. Other school locations include Oakland, San Lorenzo, San Jose, Redwood City, East Palo Alto, and Stockton.

What you will do

• Plan daily and long-term science instruction aligned with the academic vision and curriculum resources.
• Analyze student data to identify academic trends and improve instructional practices.
• Create a positive, inclusive, rigorous, and engaging classroom environment using Restorative Practices and Social Emotional Learning.
• Apply culturally responsive classroom management strategies that support safe and effective learning.
• Communicate with staff, students, families, and other stakeholders to build strong partnerships.
• Maintain student records, including attendance, grades, and behavior data, and participate in professional development.

Requirements

• Experience teaching students with demographics similar to the KIPP Public Schools Northern California student community.
• Hold a B.A. or B.S. degree from a regionally accredited institution.
• Hold a valid teaching credential in the desired subject or qualify for a Provisional Internship Permit or Short Term Staff Permit.
• Possess strong science content knowledge and the ability to build relationships with students, families, and communities.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
• Use Google Suite applications and instructional technology such as Zoom and Nearpod for classroom and distance learning when needed.

Nice to have

• CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross for Short Term Staff Permit eligibility.
