O&R Machinist

What you will do

• Study blueprints, drawings, specifications, and sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, machining sequences, and setup requirements.
• Set up and operate CNC mills, CNC lathes, grinders, conventional machines, and other special-purpose equipment.
• Select and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials.
• Calculate and adjust machining parameters, including speed, feed, coolant flow, and cutting depth and angle.
• Monitor machine operation, identify malfunctions or out-of-tolerance work, and adjust controls or machine programs.
• Verify finished parts and collaborate with engineers, production personnel, and programmers to resolve machining or assembly issues.

Requirements

• Two to three years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English is required for FAA compliance.
• Successful completion of an FAA-required background check and drug screen, including quarterly random drug screens.
• Ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk, and hear throughout the workday.
• Ability to frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
• Reliable and predictable attendance is required.
