What you will do

• Set up and operate conventional, special-purpose, and CNC machines and machining centers.
• Read blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, and sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, operation sequences, and setup requirements.
• Monitor machine operation, detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls as needed.
• Verify finished workpieces using precision measuring instruments and conduct trial runs to confirm accuracy.
• Fit and assemble machined parts, install replacement parts, and test mechanisms, machines, and equipment for proper operation.
• Measure, mark, and scribe materials; calculate and set machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and cutting depth.

Requirements

• Ability to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts.
• Ability to read blueprints and apply machine-shop theory, shop mathematics, material machinability, and layout techniques.
• Detailed knowledge of PC and equipment interfaces.
• Detailed knowledge of mechanical interfaces.
• Must be willing to work the second shift.
