Math Lead Teacher - Middle (Immediate & 26-27 SY)

Location: KIPP Capital Region schools in Albany and Troy, New York, United States

Salary: $56,000–$76,669 per year, plus a $5,000 STEM sign-on bonus.

What you will do

• Adapt and deliver rigorous, standards-aligned mathematics curriculum for students in grades 5/6–8.
• Develop lessons, unit plans, rubrics, assessments, and individualized learning plans.
• Assess student progress, provide daily feedback, and use data to guide instruction.
• Create a positive, calm, and inclusive classroom environment aligned with school values and student-management policies.
• Collaborate with school staff, participate in meetings and professional development, and contribute to school-wide culture.
• Build strong relationships with students and families through regular communication, conferences, open houses, and school events.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid New York State teaching license or willingness to pursue state certification.
• At least two years of experience as a school educator is preferred.
• Fluent English required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule outside regular business hours and participate in summer and weekly professional development.
• Ability to work in an inclusive environment that supports diverse backgrounds and perspectives and to meet the physical requirements of a school-based role.
