AI/ML Engineer (Senior Associate) (AI)

Location: Remote with flexible living locations across the United States; Chicago office listed at 550 Van Buren. Travel as needed.

Base salary: $130,000–$160,000 USD annually. Total estimated compensation including annual incentive compensation: $145,600–$188,800 USD.

What you will do

• Design and develop AI-powered systems using traditional machine learning and generative AI, including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and embeddings.
• Build intelligent applications and autonomous or interactive agents with frameworks such as LangGraph, AutoGen, and CrewAI.
• Create modular APIs and backend service components with FastAPI, Flask, or equivalent frameworks.
• Develop data pipelines for data collection, transformation, quality assurance, and model training.
• Implement observability and evaluation mechanisms for accuracy, drift, reliability, and task-level reasoning.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, architects, and domain experts while supporting experimentation, production deployment, project planning, and stakeholder communication.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML development or intelligent application engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience with Python and modern ML/AI libraries such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or OpenAI APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms including Azure or AWS and containerization tools such as Docker.
• Ability to work across multiple projects and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of hands-on AI/ML or intelligent application engineering experience.
• Experience with FastAPI, Flask, vector databases, agent frameworks, cloud ML platforms, MLOps, CI/CD, model monitoring, or AI evaluation.
• Knowledge of orchestration standards such as MCP or agent routing protocols.
• Cloud certifications and experience managing technical projects or hybrid engineering/project management roles.
