Content Methodologist - Educational Games (EdTech)
Company overview
Unimatch Lab is an AI-driven venture studio from Silicon Valley.
We are building our own AI technology stack and a portfolio of AI-driven assets: from consumer AI products and smart devices to on-prem LLM clusters and foundational layers (memory layer, RAM/VRAM optimization, orchestration, AI software for infrastructure and compute).
This includes R&D in local, distributed, and orbital data centers and distributed computing.
Goal: join the world's top 50 AI companies with a combined asset valuation of $10B+ by 2032.
We are an OKR-driven company: measurable outcomes, speed, transparency, and ownership.
We hire A-players: autonomous, fast, strong execution, high accountability.
Position summary
You own the educational logic of the product: which skill each game develops, for which age band, and under which pedagogical approach. You turn learning goals into rules the content team and game developers can build against - and you keep quality consistent as the library grows.
Full-time, permanent role on the core team. You work daily with game development, product, and external child-development reviewers - but methodology, taxonomy, and content standards are yours.
- Define and maintain a content taxonomy: skill domains, age bands, difficulty levels, and tags every game must map to.
- Write creation rules: how to design a learning activity, what counts as valid skill progression, and what to avoid.
- Build QC criteria and run review cycles on educational content before release.
- Co-design learning mechanics with game developers: what the child does, what feedback they get, and how play maps to the stated skill.
- Edit and proofread character dialogue scripts for child-directed conversation: tone, clarity, age-fit, and alignment with learning intent.
- Document methodology so new games and new team members follow the same system.
Required qualifications
- Education credentials: M.Ed, Ed.D, or PhD in Education, Child Development, Learning Sciences, or Early Childhood Education - or equivalent documented curriculum leadership at a recognized EdTech or children's media company.
- 5+ years building educational content or curriculum for children ages 3-12.
- Shipped digital learning product: at least 2 cases where you defined learning objectives, age targeting, and content structure for games, apps, or interactive programs (with samples you can share).
- Content taxonomy from scratch: you have built or owned a tagging system - skills, ages, topics, difficulty - and rules for how content maps to it.
- QC framework: you have written review rubrics or checklists for educational content and used them in production (pass/fail criteria, not informal feedback only).
- Game-adjacent methodology: hands-on work with game designers or interactive product teams on learning loops, feedback, scaffolding, and progression - not classroom-only delivery.
- Child-directed copy: experience writing or editing scripts, prompts, or dialogue for children - clear language, appropriate tone, age-fit.
- Pedagogical grounding you can explain: play-based learning, developmental progression, or standards-aligned design (e.g. early literacy/numeracy frameworks, IB PYP, Head Start, Reggio-inspired practice, or comparable).
- Portfolio required: taxonomy docs, curriculum maps, QC rubrics, or edited script samples - with your role and outcomes described.
- English B2+ for documentation, vendor collaboration, and team sync; strong written Russian if you will edit RU dialogue variants.
Nice to have
- Kids EdTech companies (Homer, Khan Academy Kids, ABCmouse, Lingokids, MarcoPolo, Osmo, or similar).
- Smart toys, voice companions, or AI character products for children.
- US and/or UAE market experience: localization of educational framing, not just translation.
- Learning science or user research: A/B on learning tasks, retention of skills across sessions.
- Coordination with licensed child psychologists on content sign-off (you build; they validate).
- AI-assisted content workflows (drafting, tagging, consistency checks) under your editorial control.
Technology stack
- Methodology: learning objectives, scope and sequence, age-band frameworks, play-based and inquiry-based design.
- Standards awareness: early learning and elementary frameworks (US and international equivalents).
- Collaboration: Notion, spreadsheets, Miro or FigJam for curriculum maps; briefs and rubrics for game dev.
- Content QC: structured review templates, versioned script docs, traceability from game -> skill -> age.
Success metrics
- Content taxonomy and creation rules documented and in active use.
- Review criteria and educational content QC process running on every release.
- Learning mechanics methodology co-built with game development and applied to shipped games.
- Character dialogue scripts proofread, corrected, and aligned with age and learning intent.
