Lead Learning Experience Designer

Location: Remote, United States. U.S. hiring is currently available in designated states and territories, subject to applicable country and state hiring requirements.

What you will do

• Design and develop digital learning experiences, capacity-building resources, and performance-support solutions for contributors at different stages of their journey.
• Partner with product teams, researchers, community groups, volunteers, and subject matter experts to identify learner needs, capability gaps, barriers, and participation opportunities.
• Select and build appropriate learning formats, including self-paced courses, workshops, video, interactive experiences, AI-enabled support, and learning embedded in products and workflows.
• Create resources that help contributors understand tools, workflows, policies, governance processes, and community practices.
• Prototype, test, and iterate with modern authoring platforms, multimedia, experimentation methods, and AI-powered tools.
• Evaluate learning effectiveness through feedback, participation metrics, analytics, and qualitative and quantitative insights.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience designing and developing digital learning experiences for diverse and global audiences.
• Experience creating e-learning, instructor-led, virtual, blended, or other modern learning solutions, including hands-on use of an LMS.
• Ability to identify capability gaps, select appropriate interventions, and rapidly design, build, test, and improve learning experiences.
• Strong written communication and content development skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for varied audiences.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and subject matter experts, including people from varied cultural, linguistic, and professional backgrounds.
• Strong commitment to accessibility, inclusive design, and culturally responsive learning practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with volunteer communities, open-knowledge initiatives, nonprofits, or international organizations.
• Experience designing for multilingual audiences and collaborating across cultures and time zones.
• Familiarity with Rise, Storyline, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, video editing platforms, AI content-generation tools, or comparable technologies.
• Experience with user research, prototyping, experimentation, A/B testing, product analytics, and iterative improvement.
