Graduate Design Engineer, Transportation - Highway Design

Location: Hybrid in Bloomington or Duluth, Minnesota; Tuesday–Thursday in the office and Monday/Friday working from home. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Salary: $74,700–$90,300 annually in Bloomington; $71,000–$85,800 annually in Duluth.

What you will do

• Assist with highway design, geometric layouts, roundabouts, alignments, profiles, cross sections, and related infrastructure projects.
• Support the production of preliminary and final plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, technicians, and other disciplines.
• Use MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office to support design and project needs.
• Contribute to transportation projects for state and local agencies and design-build contractors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or an equivalent field.
• Previous experience supporting highway or transportation design projects.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Authorization to work in the United States for any employer without current or future visa sponsorship is required.

Nice to have

• Active EIT certification or progress toward obtaining EIT certification within six months of employment.
• Master’s degree in civil engineering.
• Experience or formal training with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer.
• Experience developing construction plans and specifications.
