Location: New York Mills, Minnesota, United States; onsite full-time role in a manufacturing and office environment

Salary: $84,500–$123,900 annually, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

  • Develop, administer, and continuously improve the facility’s environmental, health, and safety management systems.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, incident and injury investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective-action follow-up.
  • Manage workers’ compensation activities, including coordination with the work compensation director, case manager, Human Resources, and the Return to Work Program.
  • Deliver EH&S training, maintain safety documentation and Safety Data Sheet records, and facilitate the Employee Safety Committee.
  • Oversee lockout/tagout compliance, ergonomic risk-reduction projects, and EH&S reviews of new or modified processes, equipment, and chemicals.
  • Manage hazardous and solid waste, air permit compliance, stormwater, spill prevention, wastewater plans, regulatory reporting, and communications with government agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, environmental management, or a related field.
  • At least five years of EH&S experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • OSHA 30-hour training and current CPR and first-aid certification.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state and local regulations, including air permit compliance.
  • Experience with loss prevention, risk management, workers’ compensation, safety analytics, and regulatory reporting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, prioritization, and cross-functional collaboration skills; proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
