Manager, Environmental Health & Safety (Manufacturing)

Location: Full-time, onsite position based in Gallatin, Tennessee, United States. Up to 25% domestic travel may be required. Relocation assistance is available.

Salary: $110,000–$135,000 per year, plus eligibility for applicable bonuses and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the site EHS strategy, management systems, policies, compliance programs, and performance standards for a new manufacturing operation.
• Integrate EHS requirements into operational strategy, capital projects, maintenance, and production processes through risk assessments and data-driven decisions.
• Build an employee-driven safety culture by coaching leaders, increasing employee engagement, and supporting hazard reporting and continuous improvement.
• Lead EHS personnel development, incident and near-miss investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop leading and lagging indicators, conduct audits and field verifications, and communicate EHS performance to plant and business leadership.
• Maintain emergency response, crisis management, fire protection, and business continuity programs, including drills and preparedness validation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental health and safety, occupational safety, environmental science, engineering, industrial hygiene, or a related field.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification required.
• Demonstrated success leading EHS programs in complex manufacturing environments and developing operational leaders who own safety performance.
• Expert knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, DOT, Tennessee environmental regulations, and applicable consensus standards.
• Strong knowledge of risk assessment, machine safeguarding, LOTO, contractor safety, industrial hygiene, emergency preparedness, fire protection, ergonomics, and environmental compliance.
• Experience with EHS management systems, data analytics, investigations, root cause analysis, project management, and Microsoft Office tools.

Nice to have

• CIH, CHMM, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent advanced certification.
• Experience with startup, expansion, greenfield, brownfield, or major capital projects.
• Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, environmental permitting, and sustainability initiatives.
