Senior Technology Designer (Low Voltage)

Location: San Antonio, Texas, United States; full-time, regular position. Preference is given to local candidates.

What you will do

• Evaluate, select, and apply low-voltage technology systems, design methods, and procedures.
• Design and specify structured cabling, outside plant, and fiber optic systems.
• Prepare complete construction document sets and write specifications for low-voltage technology systems.
• Select and recommend security devices and equipment, conduct reviews, and coordinate directly with project owners.
• Perform low-voltage technology and electrical engineering assignments across all design phases.
• Support other designers, coordinators, and technicians and conduct QA/QC reviews of their work.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• At least 10 years of experience in low-voltage system design.
• RCDD certification.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with MS Project, MS Visio, Autodesk, and SpecsIntact.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks independently, meet deadlines, coordinate with local and company-wide teams, and maintain design quality.
• Commitment to active participation in an employee-owned culture.

• Experience designing data centers or interest in data center projects.
• Experience using Bluebeam Revu.
• Knowledge of engineering drawing and design standards and practices.
