Base compensation: $90,000–$133,200 annually

What you will do

• Lead and support detailed electrical design for heavy rail, rapid transit, commuter rail, stations, facilities, and transit expansions.
• Develop construction drawings, specifications, technical documentation, electrical layouts, single-line diagrams, and equipment connection details.
• Perform electrical load calculations, equipment sizing, and system studies for low- and medium-voltage distribution systems.
• Design and analyze station lighting, emergency power, backup power, substations, electrical rooms, and passenger facility systems.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, systems, and rail disciplines.
• Participate in field investigations, construction support, stakeholder coordination, client support, and mentoring of junior engineers and designers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Approximately 5–10+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
• Experience designing electrical systems for transportation, transit, rail, infrastructure, institutional, or large public-sector projects.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution systems, single-line diagrams, NEC, and applicable industry standards.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and AGi32 for lighting calculations and photometric analysis.

Nice to have

• Experience with transit facilities, maintenance facilities, rail infrastructure, or transportation agencies.
• Familiarity with emergency power systems, service upgrades, and facility modernization projects.
• Interest in progressing toward technical lead, discipline manager, or project leader responsibilities.
