Metal Fabrication Engineer (Welding and Automation)

What you will do

• Lead operational projects involving metal fabrication, welding, automation, material handling, and plant infrastructure.
• Develop weld line layouts, workstation designs, material flow strategies, welding fixtures, tooling, and work-holding systems.
• Analyze and improve MIG welding, robotic welding, tube and sheet metal fabrication, laser cutting, press brake, and assembly processes.
• Support new product launches through feasibility reviews, process development, weld sequence planning, capacity analysis, validation, and launch support.
• Establish manufacturing standards, work instructions, process documentation, and operator training programs.
• Drive improvements in labor efficiency, weld quality, cycle time, scrap, equipment utilization, and schedule attainment while supervising a Cobot Programmer and Production Designer.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 3–6 years of relevant work experience; 6–8 years is preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
• Project management experience and welding experience in Customs operations.
• Ability to collaborate with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Sales, customers, suppliers, equipment manufacturers, and integrators.

Nice to have

• Experience with plastic molding operations and Scientific Molding principles.
• Scientific Molding certification, such as RJG.
• Train-the-Trainer certification.
• Project Management certification based on PMBOK.
• Knowledge of product design and manufacturability.
