Purchasing Specialist I

What you will do

• Purchase products and manage order fulfillment to support business demand and improve inventory turns.
• Track purchase order backlogs, update shipping and delivery information, and communicate order status and issues.
• Manage supplier relationships, delivery commitments, pricing negotiations, and process improvements.
• Coordinate with warehouses, logistics teams, and transportation carriers to ensure timely receipt and delivery.
• Manage non-conforming inventory, product disposition, inventory aging, stock rotation, and liquidations.
• Support supplier management initiatives and cross-functional project teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Typically less than two years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Foundational knowledge of purchasing, order management, supplier processes, and logistics practices.
• Ability to work independently, exercise judgment, and develop solutions for defined tasks.
• Ability to collaborate with management, planners, sales, customer operations, warehouse, logistics, and supplier teams.
