Estimator (Industrial Refrigeration)

Location: Lyndhurst, Virginia, USA; office-based

Salary: $70,000–$100,000 per year

What you will do

• Analyze project specifications, drawings, and related documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Develop detailed takeoffs covering materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, and project teams to collect project data.
• Support project proposals and bid packages while aligning estimates with pricing strategies and margin goals.
• Evaluate and update historical cost data for future bids.
• Maintain organized estimate and proposal records and participate in internal alignment meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in estimating or project costing in a construction or industrial setting.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Ability to remain seated or standing in a stationary position for extended periods; occasional lifting or carrying of items up to 25 pounds.

Nice to have

• Experience estimating industrial refrigeration or mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with construction processes, codes, and materials.
• Previous exposure to sales or proposal development.
