Refrigeration Designer (HVAC)

Location: Multiple U.S. offices and remote option, including New York City, Las Vegas, St. Louis, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Dallas, Nashville, Los Angeles, Houston, Bentonville, Kansas City, Lenexa, Phoenix, and Denver. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $83,600–$145,200 in Denver; $92,400–$119,700 in Las Vegas; $88,160–$153,120 in Los Angeles; $92,720–$161,040 in New York; and $88,160–$153,120 in Washington, D.C.

What you will do

• Perform calculations and design basic to advanced refrigeration and engineering systems independently.
• Prepare electrical system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics.
• Review shop drawings for conformance with plans and specifications.
• Research equipment and systems, evaluate their applications, and recommend feasible solutions.
• Support project coordination, including scope and schedule coordination, client meetings, quality management, and responses to client questions.
• Assist with business development relationships and provide training or support to colleagues.

Requirements

• For the mid-level role: a relevant engineering bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience, or 6 years of experience without a degree.
• For the experienced-level role: a relevant engineering bachelor’s degree and 6 years of experience, or 8 years of experience without a degree.
• Professional Engineering licensure may count toward one year of direct experience.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Bluebeam Revu.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD and Revit, and HVAC design software such as IESVE and Trane Trace.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required, with eligibility verification at employment commencement.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineering license.
• FE exam completion, LEED accreditation, or WELL accreditation.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering design, A&E practices, codes, design guides, and standards.
