Electrical Estimator – Industrial & Medium Voltage

Location: Montgomery, IL, United States. Office-based role with occasional field and construction-site visits; approximately 25% travel is required.

Expected salary: $89,000–$154,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Review bid specifications and drawings for industrial electrical and medium-voltage projects valued at approximately $500K–$10M.
• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, project schedules, and cost forecasts.
• Secure vendor and supplier pricing with Procurement and maintain subcontractor relationships for complete bid coverage.
• Track budget-to-actual comparisons and follow up on bids, budgets, and project award status.
• Review drawings with Project Management, identify risks and constructability issues, and turn over bid documents and buyout information.
• Promote compliance with safety and environmental policies while maintaining organized estimate files.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3–5 years of related experience in estimating, construction, or electrical infrastructure.
• Experience with negotiation and subcontractor engagement.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work in an office and visit construction sites, including outdoor environments and moderate noise conditions.

Nice to have

• Experience in utility, industrial, or electrical construction.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and estimating software such as Accubid.
• Exposure to project management or field operations.
• Experience estimating medium-voltage or industrial electrical projects.
