Electrical Estimator (Industrial & Medium Voltage)

Location: Otsego, Minnesota, United States. Combination of office work and occasional construction site visits; approximately 25% travel is required.

Expected salary range: $89,000–$154,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Review bid specifications and drawings for industrial electrical projects ranging from approximately $500,000 to $10 million.
• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, project schedules, and cost forecasts for industrial and medium-voltage systems.
• Coordinate with Procurement to obtain vendor and supplier pricing and maintain subcontractor relationships for complete bid coverage.
• Track budget-to-actual comparisons and follow up on bids, budgets, and award status with Project Management.
• Review drawings to identify risks, scope gaps, and constructability issues.
• Organize estimate files and transfer bid documents and subcontractor buyout information to Project Managers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3–5 years of related experience in estimating, construction, or electrical infrastructure.
• Experience with negotiation and subcontractor engagement.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work in office and construction-site environments, including outdoor conditions and moderate noise, and lift or move up to 25 pounds.

Nice to have

• Experience in utility, industrial, or electrical construction.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and estimating software such as Accubid.
• Exposure to project management or field operations.
• Experience estimating medium-voltage or industrial electrical projects.
