Marine Mechanic B

Location: Long Beach, California, USA; onsite, full-time

Pay range: $27.10–$37.22 per hour, depending on the hiring locality.

What you will do

• Maintain, inspect, diagnose, and repair marine engines, outboard motors, vessels, hydraulic power units, oil skimming systems, and related response equipment.
• Test equipment, disassemble units, repair or replace parts, and reassemble systems.
• Enter maintenance records into the preventive maintenance program and maintain equipment files.
• Perform routine adjustments, operate hand and power tools, and keep tools and work areas organized.
• Prepare work orders and materials cost estimates.
• Participate in the on-call emergency response program and perform related duties.

Requirements

• 4–7 years of overall relevant work experience.
• 3–5 years of experience maintaining and repairing marine engines.
• Knowledge of gasoline and diesel marine engines, outboard motors, vessels, hydraulic power units, oil skimming systems, and related marine equipment.
• Ability to diagnose commonly occurring malfunctions and demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license.

• Knowledge of welding practices and procedures.
• Relevant marine mechanic certifications or licenses.
