Engineer - Manufacturing (Functional Test)

Location: Onsite at Plant 7 Production Office in Pella, Iowa, USA. First shift; occasional travel is expected.

What you will do

• Support new product introductions into manufacturing by coordinating cross-functional readiness activities.
• Respond to production line calls and troubleshoot issues affecting safety, quality, and delivery.
• Initiate, review, and implement Engineering Change Notices using PLM systems such as 3DX, Teamcenter, or Windchill.
• Design and validate tools and fixtures that improve operator efficiency, safety, and KPIs.
• Apply lean manufacturing methods, including Kaizen and just-in-time practices, to improve processes.
• Integrate automation and smart tools into production processes and support tooling design with CAD.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, plus at least two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency in manufacturing processes, tooling, and lean methodologies.
• Experience with Engineering Change Notices and PLM systems such as 3DX, Teamcenter, or Windchill.
• Working knowledge of CAD tools and digital work instruction platforms.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, Power BI dashboards, or IoT-enabled process monitoring tools.
• Ability to collaborate across departments and support data-driven decision-making.
