Commissioning Technician (Industrial Refrigeration)

Location: Nationwide, United States; full-time travel required on a 10-day-on, 4-day-off rotational schedule

What you will do

• Lead startup and commissioning for new and retrofitted industrial refrigeration systems ranging from 500 HP to 10,000 HP.
• Manage commissioning risk for ammonia, CO₂, and Freon equipment in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, industrial, and refrigerated storage facilities.
• Commission compressors, recirculators, pumps, chillers, evaporators, condensers, freezers, freeze dryers, and related customer processes.
• Lead engineers and technicians throughout the commissioning process while ensuring safety, project success, and customer satisfaction.
• Train customers on newly commissioned plants and transfer operational responsibility to the customer and aftermarket support team.

Requirements

• 10+ years of industrial refrigeration experience.
• Field startup experience with CO₂ cascade systems and single- and multi-stage ammonia and Freon systems.
• Universal EPA certification and RETA 1 and 2 certifications.
• Experience commissioning complete industrial or commercial refrigeration systems and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control issues.
• Willingness to travel full-time on a 10-day-on, 4-day-off rotation.
• Ability to work 10–12-hour days, climb ladders, wear a respirator, pass a fit test, and perform occasional heavy lifting; pre-employment drug, felony, and motor vehicle record screenings are required.

Nice to have

• Commissioning school training from Frick/Johnson Controls, GE, Bitzer, or similar providers.
• HVAC/R or electrical schooling.
