Engineering Intern - Mechanical (Summer 2027)

Location: Orlando, Florida, United States; full-time, on-site internship

Pay range: $18.00–$37.00 per hour

What you will do

• Prepare vehicle component layouts using CAD software such as CATIA.
• Select components based on weight, cost, reliability, quality, and ease of manufacturing.
• Design, model, and test mechanical systems integrated with vehicles.
• Perform engineering calculations covering weight distribution, stress analysis, and performance estimates.
• Support prototype, pilot, and production builds on the assembly floor and assist with vehicle and component testing.
• Coordinate with suppliers, customers, and internal departments while managing engineering changes, bills of materials, and product data.

Requirements

• Work toward a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering field throughout the entire internship.
• Work productively and collaboratively in a diverse, multicultural environment.
• Communicate effectively in oral and written form.
• Be available for full-time, on-site work in Orlando, Florida, United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with CATIA, Pro/ENGINEER, or a similar CAD system.
• Previous internship or work experience.
• Extracurricular activities beyond academic requirements.
• Experience or strong interest in mechanical design.
