Senior Software Engineer (Java/AWS)

Location: New York, United States; hybrid work with four days in-office each week in most locations. Remote work requests may be considered under the company’s remote work policy. Unrestricted right to work in the United States is required.

Base salary compensation: $128,353 per year.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable customer-facing web applications and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build, test, deploy, and host serverless applications and microservices in AWS environments.
• Manage and optimize data storage and retrieval across SQL, PostgreSQL, XML, and file-based databases.
• Contribute to system architecture, cloud infrastructure, architecture documentation, and technical decision-making.
• Develop automated unit tests, follow TDD and Sonar coding standards, and participate in code reviews.
• Collaborate with product managers, product owners, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or foreign equivalent, plus at least four years of relevant experience.
• Four years of experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment tools such as Jenkins, Harness, or CloudBees.
• Four years of experience with AWS, including Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, SQS, EC2, and CloudFormation.
• At least three years of experience with Java, object-oriented programming, RESTful APIs, XML, SQL, PostgreSQL, and file-based databases.
• At least three years of experience developing responsive interfaces with JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js, React, or Angular.
• Experience with Terraform, application monitoring using New Relic or Splunk, agile delivery, mentoring, and secure, scalable software engineering practices.
