Associate Manager - HEMA, Surgery, Malaysia (Health Economics Market Access)

What you will do

• Build and execute integrated market access strategies for Surgery MedTech implants and enabling technologies, including wound closure, haemostasis, endo mechanical, energy, and robotics platforms.
• Compile and manage New Product Innovation MaHTAS HTA applications for Malaysia’s National Public Healthcare system.
• Engage with the Ministry of Health, MaHTAS, hospital value assessment bodies, payers, administrators, surgeons, and surgical societies.
• Coordinate real-world evidence studies, including site selection, data collection, and analysis.
• Develop economic value creation analyses, cost-of-care materials, value summaries, hospital case studies, and other customer-facing evidence.
• Partner with RHEMA, Marketing, Sales, Regulatory, Government Affairs, and commercial teams to support adoption, reimbursement, pricing, and evidence dissemination.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Applied Science, Health Economics, Public Health Policy, or a related field; a relevant master’s degree is advantageous.
• 3–5 years of experience in Malaysia’s healthcare industry.
• Experience with Malaysia’s MaHTAS HTA access processes, the MedTech industry, and foundational surgical procedural knowledge.
• Understanding of Malaysia’s healthcare access policy environment, funding processes, reimbursement requirements, and external marketplace.
• Ability to interpret and communicate health economic deliverables, including cost-utility, effectiveness, consequence, and budget-impact analyses.
• Strong communication, training, collaboration, stakeholder engagement, analytical, and project management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience engaging Malaysian Regulatory, Marketing, Government Affairs, Sales, and RHEMA stakeholders.
• Knowledge of open and laparoscopic operating-room procedures, treatment pathways, hospital costs, scheduling, and surgical performance indicators.
• Experience supporting health outcomes research, value assessment dossiers, and economic value creation tools.
• Hospital-setting experience and strategic understanding of Malaysian treatment pathways.
