Senior Registered Engineer / Project Manager, Electrical

Location: Hybrid, with 3 days in office Tuesday–Thursday and 2 days working from home Monday and Friday. Preferred office: Bloomington, Minnesota; Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Downers Grove, Illinois, Seattle, Washington, or Duluth, Minnesota are also available.

What you will do

• Lead the electrical engineering scope of industrial facility and site projects from concept through construction.
• Develop site plans, power, signal and lighting plans, equipment layouts, one-lines, industrial controls, assessments, and technical reports.
• Lead engineering and design teams while owning technical quality, project finances, safety, and delivery.
• Support construction administration through plan interpretation, construction observation, inspections, and conformance checks.
• Coordinate electrical design standards with architectural, civil, mechanical, and structural disciplines.
• Contribute to proposals, fee development, client relationships, presentations, and opportunity tracking while mentoring less experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration and 10+ years of progressive technical design experience in industrial facility and site power distribution, lighting, and control or signal systems.
• At least 2 years of experience managing electrical or multidisciplinary projects with annual service fees exceeding $300,000.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, SKM Power Tools, and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with multidisciplinary design coordination, construction administration, specifications, technical reports, and project discussions.
• Ability to travel up to 15% for meetings, consultations, and site inspections; a valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.

Nice to have

• Professional registration in multiple states and experience responding to RFPs, including fee estimating.
• Business development experience and a track record of securing new projects or programs.
• Experience with 13.8 kV medium-voltage distribution, synchronous motors, medium-voltage switchgear relays, power quality, and electrical equipment troubleshooting.
• Experience with P&IDs, loop sheets, instrumentation and control panels, PLCs, VFDs, and instrumentation.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical and Revit, plus an interest in mentoring engineers.
