What you will do

• Design electrical systems for commercial, general aviation, and air defense facilities.
• Develop power distribution, lighting, controls, emergency generation, communications, and airport infrastructure designs.
• Support airfield lighting, signage, NAVAIDs, electrical vault, and associated control equipment design and implementation.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates using AutoCAD, Revit, and other engineering tools.
• Collaborate with civil, structural, mechanical, architectural, and electrical professionals on multidisciplinary projects.
• Participate in field investigations, site visits, construction observation, client meetings, project planning, proposals, and aviation-sector relationship development.

Requirements

• Accredited bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and at least five years of progressive experience in power, lighting, control, or signal system design.
• Experience with electrical distribution equipment, lighting systems, transformers, panelboards, related infrastructure, and the National Electrical Code.
• Experience using AutoCAD and Revit and coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.
• Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and ability to travel periodically approximately 10–15% for meetings, site visits, conferences, and client engagements.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer registration, preferably in Minnesota.
• Experience with commercial, industrial, institutional, utility, transportation, or infrastructure projects.
• Experience with medium-voltage power distribution, emergency power, communications, controls, or industrial power systems.
• Familiarity with FAA Advisory Circulars, Unified Facilities Criteria, or airport infrastructure projects.
• Experience preparing project scopes, fee estimates, or technical proposals.
